Daniel Muchiri β€” Full-Stack Product Engineer

Nairobi, Kenya β€” Full-Stack Product Engineer

I build the software Kenyan businesses actually run on.

Money moves over M-Pesa. Leads arrive on WhatsApp. Prices are quoted in KES. I design and ship end-to-end products for that reality β€” e-commerce platforms, dealership CRMs, two-sided marketplaces, and real-money prediction markets β€” with TypeScript, Next.js, and PostgreSQL.

Proof of work

two live, working demos β€” not screenshots

These run right here on the page. The market maker uses the same constant-product math that prices markets in Kipimo; the payment flow mirrors the real M-Pesa Daraja STK Push sequence I've integrated in production.

Every trade moves the price along the invariant β€” no order book needed. This is the pricing engine behind Kipimo's real-money markets.

The same sequence β€” OAuth token, stkpush/v1/processrequest, customer PIN, async callback, receipt β€” that powers checkout in KWELI Store and payouts in RoadReady.

Selected work

2025–2026 builds

Real products for real operators β€” a truck dealership, a nail-supplies shop, motorists stuck on Mombasa Road. Private repos are client work; happy to walk through any of them.

Kipimo

Private beta

Real-money prediction market platform. An automated market maker (CPMM) prices YES/NO shares in real time; markets require verifiable resolution sources, Polymarket-style.

Next.jsTypeScriptPrismaPostgreSQLWebAuthnVitest
What I built
  • Constant-product market maker with auto-bootstrapped liquidity pools
  • Admin resolution interface with evidence trails and audit logs
  • Dispute system and community polls alongside tradable markets
  • Passkey (WebAuthn) authentication and AI-assisted market tooling

Kabata CRM

Client build

Full-pipeline CRM for a SINOTRUK HOWO truck dealership: WhatsApp lead intake β†’ qualification β†’ KES quotes β†’ asset-financing applications with documents β†’ analytics.

Next.jsTypeScriptPostgreSQLPrismaS3 storageVercel
What I built
  • End-to-end sales pipeline sized for a single-operator dealership
  • Asset-financing workflow with secure document management
  • Reminder system, analytics dashboard, role-based auth
  • Ten-document engineering docs suite: architecture, API reference, security model, deployment runbook

RoadReady

Open source

Two-sided marketplace for on-demand roadside assistance in Nairobi β€” a motorist app, a provider app, an ops dashboard, and one API underneath them all.

Node + ExpressPostgreSQLSocket.IOExpo / React NativeM-Pesa B2CClaude API
What I built
  • OTP auth (Africa's Talking SMS), JWT sessions, live job dispatch over websockets
  • M-Pesa collections and B2C provider payouts with reconciliation
  • Push notifications (FCM), Cloudinary uploads, Sentry monitoring
  • AI endpoints for triage and support built on the Anthropic API

Masoko

Foundation

Kenya-first prediction market foundation: a trading workspace, an operator console for disputes and settlement, and compliance-aware account flows with KYC tiers.

Next.jsTypeScriptM-Pesa DarajaPostgreSQLCron orchestration
What I built
  • M-Pesa gateway abstraction covering mock mode and live Daraja collection/payout
  • Finance close workflows: daily/monthly closes, submission, operator sign-off
  • Wallet-ledger CSV exports and rail reconciliation for operators
  • Cron-safe market lifecycle automation and notification delivery

KWELI Fashion Store

Open source

Production-quality fashion e-commerce for the Kenyan market: M-Pesa STK Push at checkout, Stripe as fallback, Kenya-wide delivery options, admin dashboard.

The stack, in data

pulled from the actual repos

Language volumes below are measured from the six 2025–2026 production codebases; the timeline is every repository since 2018.

Code by language β€” recent production work

KB of source across Kipimo, Masoko, Kabata CRM, KWELI, MELAKI, RoadReady

TypeScript-first since 2024 β€” strict mode, typed API contracts, Prisma-generated models. SQL is hand-written PLpgSQL for market settlement and payout logic.

The journey

Eight years, one direction: from first HTML page to production fintech.

2018 β€” 2019

Foundations at Moringa School

Twenty-five repos of fundamentals β€” HTML/CSS, JavaScript games, Angular apps, Flask services with Python. Learned to ship small things completely.

2023 β€” 2024

Tooling and client sites

Python utilities (a plate-registration checker, a Telegram GPT bot) and studio websites for 3D-rendering and visuals companies.

2025 β€” 2026

The production era

Six full platforms in eighteen months: two prediction markets, two e-commerce stores, a dealership CRM, and a two-sided roadside-assistance marketplace with two mobile apps. All TypeScript, all PostgreSQL, all built for how Kenya actually transacts.

Have a product that needs building?

I take on full-stack builds end to end β€” from the first schema to the deployed product. Especially at home with payments, marketplaces, and operations software.
